Artwork Description
Possibilities of a structure is a lengthy pictorial exercise that explores abstraction and geometric order through a serial logic. It consists of several structural solutions with a strong visual impact branching into several subseries. Each of these explores very particular components and configurations. The subseries Cosmos began in the 1970s and is the most complex of all. It is distinguished by the following elements: horizontal (X) and vertical (Y) lines, a large circle (celestial vault), a small circle (earth), a square rotated 45 degrees, two diagonal axes and a central square representing the four forces of the universe. The use of the wool yarn technique reflects the formal experimentation within the pictorial field, while introducing a tactile dimension.
