Artwork Description
"The Ergot Frog" depicts a frog, a symbol of the devil in medieval beliefs and in "El jardín de las delicias" by Hieronymus Bosch. Inspired by the theory that Bosch may have been influenced by ergot poisoning—a hallucinogenic condition caused by a fungus—the work connects the frog’s symbolic association with sin to the surreal, otherworldly imagery of Bosch’s masterpiece. It invites reflection on how historical and psychological influences shape artistic creation.
